These oven baked 3-ingredient roast beef and pepper jack crescent horns are the kind of easy appetizer that earns a permanent spot in the party rotation. Using refrigerated crescent dough, deli roast beef, and pepper jack cheese, they come together quickly but bake up with plenty of flavor and a flaky, golden finish. They have the familiar appeal of a warm baked sandwich in bite-size form, which makes them especially handy for game days, potlucks, and casual fall gatherings.

Serve these warm with a side of whole grain mustard, creamy horseradish sauce, or a simple au jus-inspired dip for extra savoriness. For a party spread, they pair nicely with a crisp green salad, a bowl of pickle spears, kettle chips, or a vegetable tray, and they fit right in alongside soup or chili for a more filling meal.

Ingredients

1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough, 8-count

8 slices deli roast beef
4 slices pepper jack cheese, cut in half

Directions

1. Preheat the oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.

2. Unroll the crescent dough and separate it into 8 triangles. Place 1 half-slice of pepper jack and 1 slice of roast beef on the wide end of each triangle, folding the beef as needed to fit neatly.

3. Roll each triangle up from the wide end to the tip, curving slightly to form a horn shape, and place them seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.

4. Bake for 11 to 14 minutes, or until the crescents are puffed and deep golden brown and the cheese is melted at the edges.

5. Let them cool for 3 to 5 minutes before serving so the filling can settle slightly. Serve warm.

Variations & Tips

Add a dipping sauce: Even though these are flavorful on their own, a dipping sauce makes them feel more substantial for a party tray. Whole grain mustard, creamy horseradish sauce, or a warm beef dip served on the side all work well.

Keep the filling tidy: Avoid overstuffing the crescents or the cheese may spill out too much during baking. If your roast beef slices are large, fold or tear them into smaller portions so each horn rolls up evenly.

Try a milder cheese: If you want less heat, swap the pepper jack for provolone, mozzarella, or Monterey Jack. You will still get a creamy, melty center with a slightly different flavor profile.

Serve them fresh: These are best the day they are baked, when the pastry is at its flakiest. If you need to reheat them, place them in a 300°F oven for a few minutes rather than microwaving, which can soften the crust.
