When I need a dinner that feels hearty and homemade without asking much from me after work, these 4-ingredient slow cooker bone-in pork chops are one of my favorite back-pocket meals. You simply layer everything into the crock, let the slow cooker do the heavy lifting, and end up with tender pork chops and a savory gravy-like sauce that tastes like you spent far more time on it than you actually did.
These pork chops are especially good with mashed potatoes, buttered egg noodles, or fluffy rice to soak up the rich sauce. For a simple vegetable side, I like steamed green beans, roasted carrots, or a crisp side salad, which helps balance the richness and turns this easy main dish into a full family dinner.
4-Ingredient Slow Cooker Bone-In Pork Chops
Servings: 4
Ingredients
4 bone-in pork chops, about 3/4 to 1 inch thick
Directions
1. Lightly coat the insert of your slow cooker with nonstick spray if desired for easier cleanup, then place the bone-in pork chops in an even layer in the bottom.
2. Sprinkle the ranch seasoning mix and onion soup mix evenly over the pork chops.
3. Spoon the condensed cream of chicken soup over the top, spreading it gently so the pork chops are mostly covered.
4. Cover and cook on low for 5 to 6 hours or on high for 3 to 4 hours, until the pork chops are tender and cooked through.
5. Gently spoon some of the sauce over the pork chops before serving, and serve hot with your favorite side dishes.
Variations & Tips
Make it extra savory: If you have a few extra minutes, sear the pork chops in a skillet for 2 minutes per side before adding them to the slow cooker. This is completely optional, but it adds a little more color and deeper flavor.
Use the right thickness: Bone-in pork chops that are around 3/4 to 1 inch thick hold up best in the slow cooker. Very thin chops can overcook more easily, especially if you plan to cook on high.
Turn the sauce into gravy: If you want a thicker sauce at the end, remove the cooked pork chops and whisk 1 to 2 teaspoons of cornstarch with 1 tablespoon of cold water, then stir it into the sauce in the slow cooker and let it heat for a few minutes before serving.
Change the soup: Cream of mushroom or cream of celery soup can be swapped in for a slightly different flavor while keeping the same easy 4-ingredient method.
Meal prep tip: This is a great recipe for a busy weekday. You can measure the seasoning mixes ahead of time and keep them together, so all you have to do in the morning is add the pork chops, seasonings, and soup to the crock.
