This easy no-bake potluck dessert is the kind of recipe busy people keep in their back pocket for holidays, church suppers, and last-minute family get-togethers. It comes together fast, tastes nostalgic and crowd-pleasing, and uses just a handful of store-bought ingredients in the smartest way, with pudding mix folded into whipped topping to make a fluffy dressing that stays nice and thick without any extra fuss.
Serve it well chilled in small bowls as a sweet side or simple dessert after a big meal. It fits right in next to turkey, ham, or casual sandwich suppers, and if you want to dress it up a little, a final drizzle of caramel on top right before serving makes it look extra special on the buffet table.

Variations & Tips
Make-ahead tip: You can chop the apples and candy bars a little ahead of time, but wait to mix everything together until a few hours before serving. This keeps the apples crisper and prevents the candy from getting too soft.
Apple choice: Granny Smith apples are the best fit here because their tart flavor balances the sweetness. If you prefer a milder bite, try mixing one Granny Smith with a sweeter green-red apple.
Texture tip: Fold gently so the whipped mixture stays fluffy. I like using a rubber spatula and turning the bowl as I mix, especially when I’m throwing this together quickly before a potluck.
Serving tip: Save a little caramel sauce for the top right before it hits the table. That fresh drizzle makes it look prettier and keeps the finish from sinking into the salad during chilling.
Mini cup variation: Spoon the mixture into individual dessert cups for showers, luncheons, or holiday buffets where grab-and-go portions are easier to serve.
