When I need a last-minute game day treat or a simple dessert for family movie night, this sweet platter is one of my favorite little tricks. It comes together fast, skips the oven completely, and feels festive enough for a crowd while still using just a handful of easy grocery store ingredients.
Serve this alongside salty snacks like pretzels, popcorn, or roasted peanuts for a nice sweet-and-salty balance. It also fits right in on a dessert table with cookies and brownies, and for the kids, I like setting out toothpicks or small forks so everyone can grab a piece without much mess.
4-Ingredient Caramel Apple Nachos
Servings: 6
Ingredients
3 crisp apples, thinly sliced
1/2 cup caramel sauce
1/3 cup toffee bits
1/4 cup mini chocolate chips
Directions
1. Wash and dry the apples well, then slice them thinly. If you like, arrange the slices in a single layer or slightly overlapping pattern on a foil-lined serving platter.
2. Drizzle the caramel sauce evenly over the apple slices, making sure a little gets across most of the platter.
3. Sprinkle the toffee bits and mini chocolate chips all over the top so each bite gets a little crunch and sweetness.
4. Serve right away while the apples are crisp and fresh. Add toothpicks or small forks if you're setting this out for a group.
Variations & Tips
Peanut Butter Drizzle: For a little extra richness, drizzle a spoonful of warmed peanut butter over the top along with the caramel. This is especially good if your family likes that sweet-and-salty combination.
Keep Apples Fresh: If you need a little prep time, slice the apples shortly before serving for the best color and crunch. You can also pat them dry well after slicing so the caramel sticks nicely.
Nut-Free Crowd Tip: Double-check your toffee bits if you're serving guests with allergies, since ingredients can vary by brand. If needed, swap in an allergy-friendly crunchy topping your family enjoys.
For Picky Eaters: Try making the platter in sections so kids can choose their own topping combination. One side can have just caramel, another can have caramel and toffee, and another can get the full topping mix.
