They are quick to put together, easy to serve by hand, and just right for Halloween parties, game nights, potlucks, or any time you want a warm appetizer that disappears fast.
Serve these bundles warm with a little mustard, ranch, or a creamy dip on the side, and round out the snack table with crunchy pickles, a simple veggie tray, cheese cubes, or a bowl of soup if you want to make it more of a meal. For a Halloween gathering, they fit right in beside cider, hot punch, or a fun dessert spread, and they are hearty enough to balance out all the sweets.
Oven Baked 4-Ingredient Flaky Savory Party Bundles
Servings: 16 party bundles
Ingredients
1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
8 ounces cooked sausage, finely crumbled
1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1 large egg, beaten
Directions
1. Preheat the oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper so cleanup is easy.
2. On a lightly floured surface, unfold the puff pastry and gently roll it just enough to smooth the seams. Cut it into 16 even squares.
3. Mix the cooked sausage and shredded cheddar in a bowl until evenly combined.
4. Spoon a small mound of filling into the center of each pastry square. Bring two opposite corners together and twist or pinch lightly to form little bundles, leaving a bit of filling visible.
5. Brush the tops with beaten egg and bake for 15 to 18 minutes, until puffed and deep golden brown.
6. Let them cool for 5 minutes before transferring to a serving dish. Serve warm.
Variations & Tips
Kid-Friendly Version: If you are serving picky eaters, use mild cheddar and a breakfast sausage with a gentle flavor. Keeping the filling simple makes these especially easy for little hands to enjoy.
Make-Ahead Tip: Shape the bundles and refrigerate them on the baking sheet for a few hours before baking. Brush with egg just before they go into the oven so they still bake up shiny and golden.
Different Cheese: Monterey Jack, mozzarella, or pepper jack all work nicely here. A softer, milder cheese gives a creamier bite, while pepper jack adds a little zip for grown-up snack tables.
Keep Them Crisp: Do not overfill the pastry, and give the bundles a little space on the pan so the heat can circulate. That helps the bottoms bake through and keeps the layers nice and flaky.
Fun Party Touch: For Halloween, arrange them on a dark platter with small bowls of dip and a few colorful vegetables around the edges. They look festive without any extra fuss, and guests can grab one as they mingle.
