These oven baked roast beef and smoked Swiss crescent bundles are the kind of easy party food that earns a permanent spot in the family recipe box. With just three ingredients, they come together fast, bake up flaky and golden, and deliver that warm, savory bite that always disappears first at potlucks, holiday gatherings, and busy weeknight dinners when you need something simple but comforting.
Serve these warm with a simple honey mustard, horseradish sauce, or a little au jus for dipping if you want to dress them up. They also pair well with a crisp green salad, a bowl of soup, a veggie tray, or classic holiday sides, which makes them just as handy for appetizers as they are for an easy lunch or light dinner.
Oven Baked 3-Ingredient Roast Beef and Smoked Swiss Crescent Bundles
Servings: 8 bundles
Ingredients
1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough, 8-count
8 slices deli roast beef
4 slices smoked Swiss cheese, cut in half
Directions
1. Preheat the oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet or baking dish with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
2. Unroll the crescent dough and separate it into 8 triangles.
3. Place 1 slice of roast beef and 1 half-slice of smoked Swiss cheese on the wide end of each triangle.
4. Roll each triangle up starting at the wide end, tucking the filling in as you go, and place the bundles seam-side down on the prepared pan.
5. Bake for 11 to 14 minutes, or until the crescent dough is puffed and deep golden brown and the cheese is melted.
6. Let cool for 3 to 5 minutes before serving warm.
Variations & Tips
Add a dipping sauce: Even though these are great on their own, a small bowl of honey mustard, Dijon, horseradish sauce, or warm au jus makes them feel a little more special for holidays and game-day spreads.
Make-ahead tip: You can assemble the bundles a few hours ahead, cover them, and refrigerate until you are ready to bake. This is one of my favorite tricks when I am juggling a busy afternoon and still want something warm from the oven.
Use different cheese: If smoked Swiss is hard to find, regular Swiss, provolone, or mozzarella all work well. The flavor will change a little, but you will still get that gooey center and flaky outside.
Keep them from opening: If your bundles start to unroll, gently pinch the seams and make sure they are placed seam-side down on the pan. That little step helps keep the cheese from leaking out too much while baking.
